I have a Mk 5 Golf R32 and recently have had some issues with the following fault codes:
P0430 - 002 - catalyst system Bank 2, efficiency below threshold - MIL ON
P0420 - 002 Catalyst system bank 1, efficiency below threshold - intermittent.
To add a bit of history.:
1. Car misfired a few times over a period of 6 months.
1. All 6 coil pack and spark plugs replaced by ADM Tuning, May 2015 (BREMI coil packs and NGK PLUGS
2. Car left static for 4-5 months
3. After return after 4-5 months, car misfired after 1st 60 miles then stopped.
4. Issue was burnt out coil pack and blown F53 fuse - Cylinder 3 (coil pack replace and fuse changed)
5. After 100 ,miles Engine light comes on with the faults listed above.
6. Cleared, then ran again for anther 100 miles, same happened again engine light with faults.
7. Replaced Air mass sensor AMD tuning
8. Clear for 100 miles then light comes back on
9. Taken to VW Reading, faults cleared and Cleaned throttle body and all faults.
10. Light stays of for around 300 miles came back on.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction, People have mentioned Sensors or Cats both fail.
On a separate note I was going to change the Exhaust system on my old R32 for a full system, if this is an option what's the best to go for?
TFSI Mike I remember talking to you about the exhaust system any ideas.
